No, I didn’t die of malnutrition I have lived to type another day! When we last left off I was halfway through the cleanse and very much looking forward to the reintroduction of solid food. The end of Day 2 you are rewarded with the task of mastication. Ohh, chewing how I am missed you! I have never looked forward to a meal so much in my life. Fruit Salad, Cashews, and Raisins oh my! Yes, that’s the complete menu but after drinking the equivilent of regurgitated baby food for the past two days my ration of nuts and fruit was welcome, delicious, and believe it or not, completely satisfying. I went to bed on Day 2 feeling like I was in the home stretch. And my dearly beloved dined out so he too, had survived.
The final day of the cleanse really is easy. You get to have actual bread at lunch and a pasta dish for dinner. Funny how real food tastes better than ever before! Woke up the day after the cleanse and felt really freakin’ good. Jumped out of bed and hopped on the scale and was down 5.5 pounds…I’ll take that. Then ran to the kitchen and made love to my cup of coffee.
I think this is well worth it. I was really tired on the first two days but after that I’ve felt really good. It’s been 2 days and I am still down 5 pounds. I am eating regularly, but it takes much less to fill me up and it has totally changed the way I think about food. It’s ok to be hungry and not fill the emptiness by shoveling whole twinkies down my throat. I don’t really think I look that much different and I don’t miraculously have abs or fit into jeans from 2 years ago. But it is nice to sit down and not have my legs fall asleep because my pants are cutting off the circulation to my lower extremities.
Rating: 3 Carats. You can do anything for 3 days, and this was well worth it. Plus I had 1 glass of wine last night and was drunk. I saved money and calories.
