Max Studio, Sexy LibrarianAll Max Studio shoes $49.95 at 6pm.com. If I were a sexy librarian I’d wear the shoes above.  If I were a hot chimney sweep, the shoes below are the obvious choice.  Chim-chim-charoo.

Part of me loves switching over my closets when the Season’s change.  I love the excitement of opening the storage container to find all my long lost fashion friends of Season’s past.  It’s like shopping without spending any money…although this year when I opened the box it was more like I had gone shopping at Salvation Army than Saks.

My winter wardrobe isn’t quite what I remember it being and I am desperate need of a sweater overhaul.  Check out the links below to some of our favorite sweater finds for Fall 2009.

Victoria Secret has a fantastic sweater sale with items from $19 to $49.  Free shipping today only by entering code: FREESHIP at checkout.

Loving the sweater below for only $49.  Also available in black or winter white.

And Anthropolgie just marked  a bunch of sweaters. Loving the Corolla Sweater below, a mere $39.95.

benefit
Part blush, part bronzer Dallas by  Benefit touts itself as an “outdoor glow for an indoor face.”    While their tag line makes me think of those forty-something sun seekers that spend their days at the club participating in the mixed doubles league merely as an excuse to wear those tight tennis togs, this product is to die for.  Unlike a traditional blush, this product can be swept anywhere you desire a little added joie de vivre.  Dallas is different than some competitor products, that make you look like you are in the running for season nine of Dancing With The Stars, this product is subtle and does deliver a more natural look.  Which brings me to the only issue I have with this product…the name.  Anyone who has ever visited the Lone Star State, knows that nothing in Dallas is subtle or understated.   Don’t get me wrong, I am not messing with Texas, but just food for thought that maybe  Denver would be more apropos.

Rating: 3 carats.  Love it, love it, love it!    Now all I need is a cowboy…preferably one with a tight end and multi-million dollar endorsement deal.

Burts Bees lemon Butter cuticle cream

We all know and love Burt’s Bees for their amazing natural lip balms but many of their other products have been catching our eye lately.  Apparently we’re not the only ones.  Allure magazine just voted their Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme best natural wonder in their 2009 Best of Beauty Awards.  The price you ask?  A mere $6.

This stuff is perfect to keep nails looking fresh and fly throughout the colder months, it smells great and literally makes cuticles disappear without those trips to the nail salon.  So save some cash and some self esteem….you know those little Asian ladies are talking about you.

From now until 10/31/09 If you spend $25 online you’ll get a free Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme with purchase.  Just enter “Winner” as the promotion code.

While you’re on the site check out their new all natural acne products.  We’ll have reviews coming soon.

neutrogena mineral sheers concealer kit

Well my first day of turning over a new leaf was a friggin’ disaster.  The only real accomplishment I had to my name yesterday was finishing off an entire bag of tailgate sized Ruffles potato chips and then I made some Doritos vanish…just call me David Copperfield…watch while my dignity disappears in my fat roll.

But, I digress.  As the season’s change my skin goes from oil slick to the Sahara desert and I am always looking for products that can help me transition into the cooler months…while keeping my skin from looking like the distressed leather of some high end handbag I can’t afford.

Enter Neutrogena’s New Mineral Sheer Concealer Kit.  At $14 it’s a bit pricey for drugstore concealer but I must say this stuff is different.  First off, there are two steps.  One to conceal the wrinkles, dark circles, and the pimples I am still getting despite the fact that I am 30 years old, and the other step is a powder that hides the concealer.  And in this case, 2 steps are better than 1.

It takes a bit of time to master the application, less definitely is more and it helps to warm up the liquid on the back of your hand before you apply or use a small brush.  This stuff covers great and definitely wakes up a tired eye without settling into not so fine lines.  And it’s got SPF 20.  I was a little concerned when picking out my shade that it would be too orange, but the color was perfect on my skin.  I went with Fair and so would Edward Cullen.

Rating: 2 Carats.  Tough on bags, blemishes and bluish under-eye circles.

fall-leaves

Have you ever had a couple of super indulgent weeks where you eat and drink to your hearts content and then step on the scale to find that you’ve miraculously lost a few pounds?  Yeah, me neither.

Since rubbing Shape magazine all over my thighs isn’t having a noticeable impact and I swear to Suzanne Somers it was my grandma’s butt I saw in the 360 mirror of the Nordstrom’s dressing room this weekend, the time for a massive overhaul is here.  Apparently using my abs to suck in my stomach while I shove myself into my pants is not enough to trim and tone and the time for massive action is upon us.

So us Product Princesses are launching Overhaul for the Fall, or Overfallin’ for short.  Check back over the next few weeks for 3 carat products and practices guaranteed to polish you up while expending the least amount of effort possible.  We’re all about quick fixes and we’ll try to focus on the inside too, but lets face it, when you focus on the outside, the inside is bound to catch up sooner or later.  Let’s meet Fall head on with the goal to be fit, fashion forward, and fabulous…and make extra room in our pants for Halloween candy and mashed potatoes.

Check back often for tips, trends, and we’ll all live chic on the cheap this autumn season.
